Dr. Zhong has been practicing Oriental Medicine (OM) for more than thirty years, both in China and the United States.  He received his M.D. from the Luzhou Medical College in Sichuan province, China, in 1983.  Then, he moved on to Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine; where he received his M.S. in medicine with a focus on childhood asthma.  Dr. Zhong did not stop there, he continued at Chengdu University to earn his PhD in internal medicine (specialty: disorders of the immune system).

During his medical career in China, Dr. Zhong always practiced and taught in the teaching hospitals where he was studying.  Before leaving for the United States he even worked for the State Food and Drug Administration (Chinese equivalent of the FDA) as a reviewer; where he evaluated patent herbal formulas for quality control purposes.

When he made the move to the United States in 2003, he hit the ground running.  Dr. Zhong immediately started teaching at the American College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, in Houston, Texas.  He continues to be active at the acupuncture college and is now the director of clinical training, as well as being the chair of the research committee.  Dr. Zhong’s exuberance for teaching is only slightly outdone by his passion for pediatric medicine.  This is evidenced by the publishing of his very own pediatric clinical manual.  After reviewing the available material on the pediatrics of Oriental Medicine, Dr. Zhong felt they were all missing the mark in one way or another.  So, in order to fill that void he wrote his own:  Dr. Zhong's Pediatric Essentials by Dr. Zhong Bai Song (2016-06-30): Amazon.com: Books

Dr. Zhong has been immersing himself in patient care and Oriental Medicine since 1979.  In addition to his schooling and teaching, he has also been creating and running research projects, he is a professional member of state, national, and international Oriental Medicine organizations, he even worked with teams developing patent herbal formulas.  In summation, Dr. Zhong is a practitioner “par excellence”.
